Tom was born in St. Louis, Missouri. He attended Zion Lutheran School for a short time and was baptized in October 1958. Tom married Jean Marie Maloney in 1970 and they have two children, Jeff and Jennifer, and five grandchildren…two boys and three girls, all under age seven. Tom has served our Lord in various capacities...all volunteer...at the congregational level, depending on the needs of his congregation. He has also served in various positions in the LCMS Foundation since February 1983. Prior to that, he held a position in the accounting and finance areas of Georgia Pacific. He served our country by serving with the U.S. Navy for almost eight years. Over the years, he has written articles for some major magazines and newspapers about stewardship and planned giving. Currently, Tom is the Senior Vice President for Trust Administration/Customer Support for the LCMS Foundation. The Trust Administration/Customer Support area is made up of several complementary divisions: Gift Processing, Gift Drafting and Design, Information Technology, Trust Services and Reporting. Tom is an honor graduate of St. Louis University with a Master of Business Administration from Webster University. |

In addition to having a full range of experience and knowledge related to gift planning, development and trust administration, Tom holds the following professional credentials: Certified Public Accountant, Certified Trust and Financial Advisor, Certified Fund Raising Executive and Certified Development Professional. He has been a very active member of the following professional organizations for several years: American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants, Institute of Certified Bankers, National Committee on Planned Giving, Association of Fund Raising Professionals and Association of Lutheran Development Executives. For his own pastime and recreation, Tom is a Certified Fourth Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do, holds an amateur radio license (HAM) and enjoys cycling. Send Tom an E-mail message: Tom Angus |
