FROM THE
PRESIDENT


In this issue of Offerings we unveil a new logo for the 50th anniversary of the LCMS Foundation, which will be observed in 2008. The Foundation was established in 1958, by forward looking Lutherans who saw the need to help individuals create a lifetime plan for giving through Gifts Today, Gifts Tomorrow and Gifts Forever.

Since that time, God has blessed hundreds of thousands of individual Christians, who have experienced the joy of giving, and thousands of congregations and other Christ-centered ministries, which have expanded and extended their work in carrying out the Great Commission.

More than $1 billion has been distributed through the Foundation in its nearly 50-year history. We thank God for the blessings of the past and praise Him in advance for the great things He will do in the future!

Since the last issue of Offerings was published in March, our beloved editor, Stacy Peck and her husband Russell were tragically killed in an automobile accident near their home in Missouri. We continue to mourn the loss of two very special people but rejoice that they are together with the Lord Jesus Christ.

Stacy had committed her life to communicating the joys of Christian outreach and stewardship through printed and electronic media, something which she was very good at doing. Russell had committed his life to helping young people follow Christ through his work as ...
